Two of the heroes from Cal Poly Pomona's 2024 postseason run showed up big for the Broncos in their latest NCAA Regional match against No. 3 Simon Fraser.
 
Vanessa Cruz scored her 12th goal of the season in the 33rd minute, and Marisa Salazar added her sixth goal in the 78th minute to lift Cal Poly Pomona to the 2-0 win.
 
CPP dominated the first half, outshooting SFU 12-3, and after Cruz scored, the Broncos played with even more confidence and controlled the action the rest of the match.
 
CCAA Goalkeeper of the Year, Jenna Tetrault, made three saves, as did her counterpart, Sarah Loewen.
 
Cal Poly Pomona will advance to the finals of the NCAA West Regional, where it will host the No. 4 seed, Azusa Pacific, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29.
