Stanislaus State secures first-round win; CSUSB-HUM suspended in first round of the 2025 CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

Match 1: No. 3 Stanislaus State 3, No. 6 Cal State East Bay 2 [Box score]

TURLOCK, Calif. - No. 3 seed Stanislaus State defended its home field in the first round of the 2025 CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament presented by FloCollege, prevailing 3-2 over the No. 6 seed, Cal State East Bay.
 
Shauna Johnston put the Warriors (11-4-4) in front early with a goal in the sixth minute, and they would play with the lead the entire match. Jocelin Roa extended the lead to 2-0 before halftime with a penalty kick goal in the 31st minute.
 
Cal State East Bay answered with its first goal in the 62nd minute when Kella Folkerts collected Morgan Pearson's missed penalty kick and deposited it into the net to make the score 2-1.
 
Kellyann Rodriguez provided the Warriors with an insurance goal in the 75th minute off an assist by Aliah Avila. That would prove to be the game-winner as the Pioneers battled till the final minute.
 
CSUEB cut its deficit back to one (3-2) with seven minutes remaining when Mika Sayfurahman found Rachel Mull for her first goal of the season.
 
The Warriors' defense then held on to secure a CCAA Tournament win for the second straight season.
 
Zara Mujica had two saves for Stanislaus State. Madison Dong and Ashley Levi split time in goal for Cal State East Bay. Dong played through the third goal, making four saves. Levi came in for the final 14 minutes and had one stop.
 
Stanislaus State will advance to the semifinals of the 2025 CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament presented by FloCollege in Seaside, Calif. It will face the No. 2 seed, Chico State, on Friday, Nov. 14, at 4:30 p.m.
 
Match 2: No. 4 Cal State San Bernardino and No. 5 Cal Poly Humboldt - postponed 
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Due to oncoming darkness, the first-round match between No. 4 seed Cal State San Marcos and the No. 5 seed Cal Poly Humboldt was postponed until Monday, Nov. 10, at 10:00 a.m.
