United Soccer Coaches Final Poll

In what comes as no surprise, the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team finished No. 1 in the final United Soccer Coaches poll for the 2024 season.

The Broncos put together the best season in program history, culminating in Cal Poly Pomona capturing the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship. CPP opened the season on a 14-match unbeaten run and ended with a 10-game winning streak. During that journey to the championship, the Broncos defeated four top-25 teams and the previous two national champions. Cal Poly Pomona finished the year with a school-record 22 wins (22-1-2) and senior midfielder Tara Oper was named the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Div. II Player of the Year.

Cal Poly Pomona was unranked in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll. It began to receive votes in the first poll before jumping to No. 7 after its win over then No. 1 Point Loma. The Broncos would remain in the top 10 for the rest of the season. They went to No. 2 for consecutive weeks before their second tie of the season knocked them down to No. 4. CPP suffered its only loss of the season on Oct. 27 to Stanislaus State, but even then, the Broncos would stay at No. 4. They remained there until they hoisted the 2024 NCAA Championship trophy.

Cal State East Bay (11-6-3, 6-3-2 CCAA) and Cal State LA (9-4-5, 6-4-1 CCAA) were listed among the group of 'also receiving votes.' Both earned top 25 rankings during the season and finished just outside the top 25. Click here to see the final 2024 United Soccer Coaches poll.

It was the first NCAA women's soccer title for a CCAA team since 2001, when UC San Diego won its second of back-to-back championships.
