Tereise Tosi's D2CCA West Region Player of the Year honors highlight a long list of NFCA and D2CCA softball all-region awards for the CCAA.
Tosi was one of 12 CCAA student-athletes named to both all-region teams. CCAA student-athletes swept first team spots at six of the 13 positions, including every infield position except shortstop.
Cal State San Bernardino's
Tereise Tosi was the unanimous choice on the NFCA and D2CCA ballots for all-region third baseman. The junior hit .435 with a .520 on-base percentage, ranking second in the CCAA in both categories. The 2024 CCAA Player of the Year finished the season with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 31 RBI, and 26 runs scored. Tosi was also one of the toughest batters in the country to strikeouts with a 28-to-6 walk-to-strikeout ratio.
CCAA Pitcher of the Year
Jayline Sloss was one of two pitchers listed on both first teams. The right-hander led the CCAA with a 1.32 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. She went 19-9 on the season with a .214 opponent batting average and 128 strikeouts over 196.2 innings.
Cal State Monterey Bay's
Ally Alcayaga claimed first team all-region honors after leading the CCAA with a .721 slugging percentage. The junior hit .413 (third CCAA) with seven home runs and 28 RBI. She posted a .466 on-base percentage and a 1.187 OPS.
Paige Donnelly finished the season hitting .344 with a PacWest-leading 17 doubles to go with seven home runs and 42 RBI to claim the honor of earning NFCA and D2CCA All-West Region first-team honors for Cal State San Marcos.
Giana Hays picked up each of the first team all-region selections at second base. Sonoma State's senior led the conference and ranked 18th in Division II with six triples. She was also the Seawolves' leader in batting average (.364), home runs (8), and RBIs (39).
Anna Zoia-Buescher joined her Sonoma State teammate on both all-region first teams. The 2023 D2CCA Player of the Year hit .348 with 34 runs scored, and she led the league with 30 stolen bases, eight more than second place.
Annelise Garcia represented Cal State East Bay as a first team all-region utility player. Garcia helped lead the Pioneers to their first NCAA Regional appearance, hitting .364 and placing second in the CCAA with 112 total bases.
Stanislaus State's
Mikaela Ferreira earned first team NFCA all-region and second team D2CCA honors. The Warriors' shortstop ranked 17th in NCAA Div. II with a .455 batting average and fifth with a .560 on-base percentage. Ferreira also posted a .667 slugging percentage and had the most walks per game (0.69). Ferreira being named NFCA first team all-region shortstop made the entire first team infield selections from the CCAA.
Jay Ross from Cal State Dominguez Hills was a first-team NFCA selection at outfield and a second-team D2CCA selection at Utility (non-pitcher). Ross was fourth in the CCAA with a .409 batting average and led the conference with 74 hits.
Cal State San Bernardino's
Shannon Galliano was a first team selection by the D2CCA voters and second team by the NFCA. Galliano collected 69 hits (second CCAA) and placed fifth in the CCAA with a .388 batting average.
Cal State Dominguez Hills'
Mariah Ramirez and Cal State San Bernardino's
Bri Goris were named to both all-region second teams.
Mariah Ramirez was the all-region second team selection at utility/pitcher. Ramirez leads the CCAA in home runs (20), RBIs (50), and total bases (120). Her 20 home runs rank her sixth in NCAA Div. II, and she is seventh in wins (25).
Bri Goris from Cal State San Bernardino hit .348 with nine doubles, 11 home runs, and 45 runs batted in. The junior first baseman ranked seventh in the CCAA in slugging percentage (.645) and second in home runs.
Cal State San Marcos'
Madison Waymire earned NFCA all-region second team honors as a utility/non-pitcher. She led the CCAA in runs scored (51) and was second in doubles (15).
Cal State East Bay's
Marissa Quintero was a second team NFCA all-region selection. The 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year ranked third in the conference in ERA (2.06) and WHIP (1.13) and first in shutouts (five).
The All-American teams will be released in the coming weeks.
