It came down to the final game of the regular season, with San Francisco State earning a 1-0 win over regular-season champions Sonoma State, for the seeds to be finalized for the 2024 CCAA Softball Tournament.
?Sonoma State will be the No. 1 seed for the second consecutive year after winning the CCAA regular season title. The Seawolves are 23-11 in the CCAA and 30-16 overall.
Cal State San Marcos moved to the No. 2 seed on the season's final day after sweeping Chico State. The Cougars (32-19, 20-12 CCAA) and Seawolves will both receive first-round byes.
The next four seeds will play a single-game elimination to determine who advances to the next portion of the tournament.
Cal State Dominguez Hills won the tournament last year as the No. 4 seed. The Toros will enter this tournament at No. 3 after posting a 33-17 record (21-13 CCAA).
Cal State San Bernardino was in the hunt for the regular season championship until the season's final weekend. The Coyotes earned the No. 4 seed and will be 28-19 (20-14 CCAA) at first pitch on Wednesday.
Cal State East Bay finished at .500 (17-17) and collected the No. 5 seed. The Pioneers will play in the CCAA Tournament for the second time in program history (2022).
San Francisco State completes the six-team tournament. The Gators defeated Sonoma, 1-0, in the regular-season finale to earn the program's third CCAA Tournament appearance.
The CCAA Softball Tournament will be held from May 1 to 4 at the CSUSM Softball Field on the campus of Cal State San Marcos.
