Cal State San Bernardino’s Jacob Mejia has been voted the CCAA Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 15-21.

Mejia put together an incredible week, which included two grand slams. Playing in the final three games of CSUSB’s series against Cal State East Bay, Mejia went 8-for-12 (.667) with four doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, and four runs scored. He finished the week by reaching base at least twice in every game and posting a 1.500 slugging percentage.

After going 2-for-3 in Saturday’s opener, Mejia caught fire as he closed out the series. He doubled in a run in the first inning before hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the second to extend the Coyotes’ lead to 9-1.

The junior infielder added another grand slam in Sunday’s 15-0 win. He went 4-of-5, with two doubles, to help CSUSB earn its largest margin of victory this season (15-0).

Mejia is now hitting .313 with a team-leading 12 doubles and is third on the team with 26 RBI.

This is the Palm Desert native's first career CCAA Player of the Week award and the first for CSUSB in 2024. Click here to see the complete list of weekly award winners.
