David Eichhorn of San Francisco State threw a complete game against Cal State San Bernardino to pick up the CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week award.

Eichhorn went the distance against the 11th ranked Coyotes in Sunday’s finale, lifting the Gators to a 3-1 series win. He allowed just five singles and yielded an unearned run in SF State’s 4-1 win. Eichhorn struck out eight batters and walked just one in the gem.

The junior right-hander from Aptos walked the leadoff batter and sat the next 11 Coyotes in order before allowing a single to start the fifth inning. That runner ended up scoring with two outs on a throwing error by an infielder. Eichhorn also got out of a two-on, one out situation in the sixth inning.

The complete game performance was the first by any Gator since Feb. 21, 2020 when Jack Higgins threw a complete game shutout over Cal State San Marcos. Click here to see the history of CCAA Baseball weekly award winners.

San Francisco State, winner of five of last six games, improved to 9-5 overall and 3-1 in CCAA play. The Gators will travel to take on Chico State this weekend. Watch the games on the CCAA Network at CCAAnetwork.com.
