Chico’s Emanuel Padilla closes the season with a shutout and FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors

Emanuel Padilla of the Chico State men’s soccer team was named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the final week of the conference schedule. 

Padilla was a brick wall in goal for the Wildcats, making six crucial saves against Stanislaus State to earn the shutout. He faced 18 shots against a determined Warriors side and successfully kept them off the board to earn his sixth shutout. 

The senior from Santa Rosa completes the regular season ranked second in the CCAA and 21st in NCAA Div. II with a 0.843 goals against average. He was second in the conference in save percentage (.797) and shutouts (six). Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders

Chico State earned the No. 3 seed in the CCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament presented by FloCollege. The Wildcats will host No. 6 seed Cal State East Bay in the first round on Sunday, Nov. 10 at Noon.
