Bronco Athletics SAAC presents CCAA Cares fund to Poly Pantry during halftime of soccer match

During halftime of the Women’s Soccer match on Thursday, the Cal Poly Pomona Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) proudly presented the Poly Pantry a donation of $676 as part of the CCAA Cares initiative.

The funds were donated by the CCAA to the Poly Pantry on behalf of the Cal Poly Pomona SAAC, for the Broncos’ efforts hosting the 2024 CCAA Baseball Tournament last May.

The check was presented to the Poly Pantry by SAAC President Madison Novak, a senior on the CPP volleyball team. Poly Pantry manager Sandy Solano and Poly Pantry supervisor Grace Worku were at the soccer match to accept the gift.

The conference provides 10 percent of the net ticket revenue to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) program at each CCAA institution hosting a conference tournament or championship for them to donate to their preferred non-profit. Institutions hosting a conference championship that does not charge admission (i.e., cross country, golf) will receive a $250 contribution.

The CCAA takes pride in engaging and collaborating with campus, local, regional and state-wide communities. The CCAA Cares program helps amplify the exceptional community service contributions made by CCAA athletics departments and their respective SAAC and student-athletes.

Since the inception of the CCAA Cares program, the CCAA has donated more than $7,200 to charitable organizations selected by campus SAAC groups across the conference.
