ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and Visit Sacramento have been selected to host the 2026 and 2027 NCAA Division II Men’s & Women’s Cross Country West Regional Championships. 
 
The conference, with the Sacramento Sports Commission, will host the regional meet in consecutive years at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento. This is also the site of the upcoming 2024 NCAA Division II Championships and had served as the site of the 2019 NCAA Championships. 
 
"In conjunction with our amazing partner in Visit Sacramento, we are excited to host the 2026 and 2027 NCAA Division II Cross Country West Regional at Haggin Oaks," said CCAA commissioner Allen Hardison. "This will provide a great opportunity for our cross county student-athletes and coaches to compete for a Regional Championship here in California on a course they know very well."

Dates for the regional championships in Sacramento will be Nov. 21, 2026 and Nov. 6, 2027.
 
The NCAA chose over 240 host sites for preliminary and final rounds of predetermined championships across Divisions I, II and III, primarily for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons. This cycle marked a shift from a four-year to a two-year site selection process.
 
"The enthusiasm and interest from around the country to host NCAA championships continues to be a testament to the quality of our events," said Lynda Tealer, NCAA senior vice president of championships. "For this cycle we incorporated more data into the process to help our sport and oversight committees through the evaluation and selection of sites as we had so many quality venues and locations looking to host during these two seasons. We will continue to evaluate and gather feedback on going from the traditional four-year cycle to awarding championship bids for two years to determine the right cadence for the bid process in the future."

The West Regional championships will be held in California for the first time since 2009 (San Francisco). The meet had been rotating between Monmonuth, Ore., and Billings, Mont. since 2014.
