SEASIDE, Calif. - Cal State Monterey Bay drew a school-record 16 walks, and Jacob Dressler knocked in five runs, including four two-out RBIs, to knock defending regional champions Point Loma out of the NCAA postseason with an 11-8 win.

Taking advance of the free passes, CSUMB scored in six of the first seven innings and built their lead to 9-4 after six innings. A grand slam by the Sea Lions in the seventh cut the Otters' lead to one (9-8), but they tacked on two more insurance runs, and Chris Tonna slammed the door with a six-out save.

Dressler's first RBIs came in the third when he singled in two runners with two outs to put the Otters up 4-3. He had another go-ahead RBI in the fifth when he hit a sac fly to give CSUMB a lead it would never relinquish (5-4). He added two more RBI in the sixth on a two-out, two-RBI double. The sophomore third baseman finished 2-for-4 with a double and five RBI.

Leadoff man Chase Lindemann had two RBI and a pair of singles. He also walked three times as he reached base in five of his six plate appearances. He was one of four Otters who received three free passes.

Nate Rohlicek improved to 8-0. He went 6.2 innings allowing nine hits and five runs. Closer Chris Tonna struck out five of the six batters he faced in two perfect innings of work.

Troy Wentworth (3-3) took the loss for Point Loma. Hunter Otjen had three hits and scored three runs. Jakob Christian set the PacWest record with his 28th home run of the season.

Cal State Monterey will now take on Cal Poly Pomona in a best-of-3 series to determine who will play in the Super Regional next weekend. The next game is scheduled for Noon on Friday, May 19.
