CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams
Brylynn Vallejos capped of her fantastic 2022 season with a selection to the prestigious CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II softball team.
While majoring in Kinesiology at San Francisco State, Vallejos led the conference in batting average (.408), home runs (10), and runs scored (64) en route to earning CCAA Most Valuable Player honors. The outfielder also paced the CCAA in on-base percentage (.464) and slugging percentage (.723). Vallejos ranked in the top 10 of the conference in stolen bases (second, 38), hits (fourth, 75), doubles (second, 18), triples (fifth, 5), and her 132 total bases ranked 18th in NCAA Division II.
This is the third All-America honor of 2022 for the Reno native as she was also named a D2CCA and NFCA All-American.
Vallejos is one of only eight repeat selections on the Academic All-America team. She first earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 2020 when she was named to the third team.
Before Vallejos reached the All-America level, Vallejos was joined on the CoSIDA All-District team by Brooke Larsen (P, Chico State), Alani Nguyen (DP, Chico State), Amanda Metzger (OF, Chico State), Nikki Andelin (IF, Cal State San Marcos), and Izzy Starr (Cal Poly Humboldt).
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution, and be nominated by his/her sports information director. The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
