It came down to the final shot in the last game, but the CCAA Women's Basketball Tournament bracket is now set.

Cal State San Marcos (21-2, 19-1 CCAA) secured the top seed with a 74-49 win at Cal Poly Humboldt. The victory pushed the Cougars' CCAA winning percentage to .950 and gave them their second consecutive CCAA regular-season title. Cal State San Marcos will take a 17-game winning streak into postseason play as they look to get back into the championship game. The Cougars have won at least one tournament game each of the last two seasons.

All season, Cal State East Bay (20-2, 15-1 CCAA) was near the top of the standings, and they finished with a first-round bye and the No. 2 seed. The Pioneers won their first 10 CCAA conference contests to sit atop the standings through the first half of the season. The Pioneers have qualified for each of the last 10 CCAA Women's Basketball Tournaments. They won back-to-back titles (2016 and 2017) and made the championship game in three consecutive seasons.

Cal State LA (13-12, 12-7 CCAA) won eight of its final 11 games to grab the No. 3 seed. The Golden Eagles return to the CCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018. Cal State LA made the championship game in consecutive seasons (2012 and 2013), but it has yet to win a tournament title.

Sonoma State (10-15, 9-10 CCAA) is the No. 6 seed, and it will be the Golden Eagles' first-round opponent. The Seawolves won three of their last five, including a 60-46 victory over Cal State LA in the season finale, to grab the final spot in the tournament. The victory gave Sonoma a season sweep of Cal State LA.

When that final shot by Stanislaus State rolled off the rim, it was Cal State Dominguez Hills (13-11, 11-8 CCAA) that seized the victory and the No. 4 seed. Cal State Dominguez Hills is four-time CCAA Tournament Champion, with their last titles coming in back-to-back seasons (2014 and 2015). The Toros are 10-4 since the calendar turned to 2022.

The Toros will face the No. 5 seed, Chico State (12-10, 10-8 CCAA) to open the tournament. Chico State secured their bid to the tournament with one game to go in the regular season when Charity Gallegos hit a layup with under five seconds on the clock to give the Wildcats the 65-64 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in their only meeting of the season. Chico State won seven of eight games late in the season to put themselves in position for their second consecutive CCAA Tournament appearance. Chico State's last CCAA Tournament championship came in 2008 when the conference tournament was reinstituted.

For the first time since 2014, the CCAA Tournament will feature all six teams at one site. The top two seeds will get a bye in the quarterfinal round and automatically advance to the semifinals.
