Warriors' Jade Poon Selected as CCAA Player of the Week
SAN RAMON, Calif. - Stanislaus State senior
Jade Poon has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 4 through Sept. 10.
This past week, Poon totaled six goals in a span of three games. Along the way, she led the Warriors to three victories with the team’s overall mark improving to 5-0 heading into CCAA play this week.
Poon scored three goals and added an assist in Stanislaus State’s 4-3 win over Notre Dame de Namur
on Monday. Then
on Friday, she recorded two goals to guide the Warriors to a 3-1 come-front-behind victory against Simon Fraser. Finally
on Sunday, Poon registered the equalizing goal in the team’s 2-1 defeat of Central Washington. She became the first Warrior to score six goals in a week.
Up next, the Warriors travel to Southern California for matchups against Cal State San Marcos and UC San Diego. Sunday's contest against the Tritons is the CCAA Game of the Week.
