Stanislaus State’s Zara Mujica has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6.

Mujica anchored the Warriors’ defense during an unbeaten week, including a 1-1 draw at powerhouse Point Loma. She allowed just one goal in 180 minutes to finish with nine saves, a .900 save percentage and a 0.50 Goals-Against-Average.

In Thursday’s match at Point Loma, the senior goalkeeper from Cardiff, Wales, recorded seven big saves in the impressive draw against one of the top teams in the region. She followed that performance Sunday with a shutout in a scoreless contest against Dominican. The clean sheet was Mujica’s second this season and eighth of her career.

Mujica leads the CCAA with 17 saves and ranks second with a 4.25 saves per game average. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders
