ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona's Ricardo Vargas has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6.
 
Vargas ran a time of 24:17.9 at the CSUSB Coyote Challenge finishing second overall and as the top collegiate runner in the challenge. Cal Poly Pomona also claimed the team championship at this invitational. The race also served as a preview of the CCAA Championships, as the conference championship will be held on the same course on Nov. 7.

Vargas and the Broncos’ men’s cross country team will be at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19, in Riverside, California.
