Cal State Monterey Bay’s Willow Baltazar receives FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor Sep 29, 2026 ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State Monterey Bay’s Willow Baltazar has claimed the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award for the week of Sept. 21-27. Baltazar posted a pair of shutouts last week, playing all 180 minutes in goal without allowing a goal. The sophomore goalkeeper made seven saves in Friday’s 2-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos to earn the clean sheet. The Camarillo, Calif., native followed that performance with another shutout in a 0-0 draw against No. 2 Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday, helping the Otters secure a point against the nationally ranked Broncos. Baltazar currently ranks among the CCAA’s top 10 in four statistical categories, including goals-against average (1.03), total saves (36), saves per game (4.50) and shutouts (three). With the two shutouts, Cal State Monterey Bay improved to 3-2-3 overall and 1-2-1 in CCAA play. The Otters host San Francisco State on Friday and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday.
