ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State LA’s Felix Alverdale has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 21-27.

Alverdale had a remarkable weekend, scoring a total of three goals and an assist to lead the Golden Eagles to two victories. He scored the equalizer and assisted on the game-winner to help LA rally back and defeat Stanislaus State on Friday. He followed up his performance with two early goals in Sunday’s match against UC Merced.

The junior from Varnamo, Sweden, leveled the score for the Golden Eagles with the Warriors on Friday, finding the back of the net in the 50th minute. He helped secure the win just moments later, assisting the game-winning goal in the 65th minute. On Sunday, Alverdale scored twice against the Bobcats – once in the 5th minute and again in the 8th minute to secure the 2-0 lead for the Golden Eagles. He finished the weekend with seven shots, three goals, and one assist in just 96 minutes of playing time.

Cal State LA has now improved to 8-0-1 overall, and held onto their No. 1 ranking. The Golden Eagles will travel to Cal Poly Humboldt to battle the Lumberjacks on Friday at 3pm. On Sunday, the Golden Eagles will face off against Chico State at 11am.
