ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Humboldt’s Amya Uvalle has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Cross Country runner of the week for Sept. 21-27. 

Uvalle recorded a new personal best time of 21:48.1 in the 6k race at the Mike Johnson Classic, hosted by Western Oregon. Her time improved by more than 57 seconds after she recorded a personal best just two weeks earlier. 

The freshman from Guadalupe, Calif., placed 26th amongst a race packed with Division I and GNAC programs. Her performance helped the Lumberjacks secure a ninth-place team finish.

The Lumberjacks cross country team will return to Oregon for the Charles Bowles Invitational at McCulloch Stadium on Saturday, October 3rd.
