Mikayla Weiss wins FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week during Fresno Pacific’s first weekend in the conference

Fresno Pacific’s Mikayla Weiss was voted the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week of Aug. 24-30. 

Weiss led FPU to a perfect 3-0 week at the Sunbird Classic, averaging 10.0 assists per set. The graduate student added 20 digs, 14 kills, and five aces. She posted at least 28 assists in all three matches, including a season-best 41 against former PacWest foe, Hawaii Hilo. Weiss just missed a double-double against Western Oregon when she registered 28 assists and nine digs in a three-set sweep. 

The Clovis native emerged from the weekend leading the CCAA in assists (10.0) and ranking 10th in hitting percentage (.297). Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard

The Sunbirds will now travel to Fairbanks, Alaska to play four matches in the Ice Block Classic. FPU will open against Minnesota Mankato on Thursday, Sept. 3.
