ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - CCAA student-athletes established a new conference standard in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, as a record 1,209 individuals earned CCAA All-Academic honors presented by Athletic Solutions.
 
The 1,209 honorees represent the most in conference history and mark the first time the CCAA has surpassed 1,200 All-Academic selections. This year’s total eclipsed the previous all-time record of 1,171, established in 2020-21, and exceeded last year’s total of 1,150 by 59 student-athletes.
 
To qualify for the CCAA All-Academic Award, an undergraduate student-athlete must have earned a varsity letter in one of the conference’s 13 sponsored sports while posting a grade-point average of at least 3.40 in a minimum of 24 semester units completed at the certifying institution during the academic year.
 
"Congratulations to the 1,209 student-athletes who earned a place on the 2025-26 CCAA All-Academic Team," said CCAA Commissioner Allen Hardison. "Surpassing 1,200 honorees and establishing a new all-time conference record is an extraordinary accomplishment. It reflects the tremendous dedication our student-athletes bring to their academic responsibilities while also training, competing and serving as leaders within their campus communities.
 
“I also want to thank the faculty, coaches, academic advisors and administrators throughout the conference who support our student-athletes and help make achievements such as this possible."
 
Chico State led all CCAA institutions with 138 All-Academic selections. Cal Poly Pomona followed closely with 133 honorees, while Cal State San Marcos placed third with 132. Cal State East Bay registered 107 selections, Cal Poly Humboldt had 105, and Cal State Monterey Bay added 103, giving the conference six institutions with at least 100 honorees.
 
Eight of the CCAA’s 11 returning institutions increased their number of All-Academic selections from 2024-25. Chico State recorded the largest year-over-year increase, adding 66 honorees to nearly double last year’s total of 72. Cal Poly Pomona added 32 selections, while Cal Poly Humboldt increased its total by 20. UC Merced placed 51 student-athletes on the All-Academic Team during its first year of CCAA competition.
 
The CCAA began presenting its annual All-Academic Awards in 2005-06.
 
The CCAA and NCAA Division II support the educational mission of college athletics by fostering a balanced and inclusive approach in which student-athletes learn and develop through their desired academic pursuits, civic engagement within their communities and athletic competition, creating a life in the balance.
 
The award demonstrates the academic achievements of student-athletes throughout the CCAA’s 12 member institutions. It illustrates one of the many ways student-athletes take advantage of the unique opportunity Division II provides to compete in the classroom, on the field, in their careers, for their causes and on their terms.
