Sydney Nelson claims FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading CPP to two wins Feb 3, 2026 Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona’s Sydney Nelson has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1. The CCAA scoring leader averaged 23.0 points per game in CPP's two wins, helping the Broncos extend their lead to two games in the CCAA standings. She shot .474 from the floor (18-of-38) and .714 from the line, while adding six steals, three assists, two blocks, and 13 rebounds on the weekend. The junior forward opened the week with a 25-point, seven-rebound performance against Cal State East Bay. Nelson followed that with a 21-point, six-rebound game against San Francisco State. She also had five steals and two blocks in the contest. Nelson leads the CCAA in scoring with 18.9 ppg. She is also first in field goal percentage (.513) and fourth in steals per game (2.06).
