ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State LA's Emil Kischka has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

Kischka has been a key piece to Cal State LA’s defense all season. This week, he helped the Golden Eagles record two shutouts on the road and improve to 5-0-1 in the conference.

Kischka and the Golden Eagles opened the week with a 3-0 victory over Cal Poly Humboldt, holding the Lumberjacks to just one shot on goal. They followed with another clean sheet on Sunday at Chico State, limiting the Wildcats to four shots, and no shots on goal in a 1-0 victory. The senior defender from Braunschweig, Germany, also delivered the game-winning goal, converting a penalty kick with just 46 seconds remaining in regulation.

Cal State Los Angeles has now recorded nine total shutouts, and currently leads the CCAA with just two goals allowed this season.  Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.
