Cal Poly Pomona’s Marvin Gamez secures FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award Oct 6, 2026 By: Maya Coston, Athletics Leadership Development Intern ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona’s Marvin Gamez has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 28-Oct 4. Gamez led the Broncos’ offense on the road this week, contributing two goals and one assist across two matches. Against Chico State on Thursday, Gamez scored the equalizer with just 20 seconds left in regulation to secure a tie. He delivered another clutch performance on Sunday against Cal Poly Humboldt, scoring on the game-winning goal late in the match to lift Cal Poly Pomona to a 3-2 victory. The senior from Bell Gardens, Calif., leveled the score against the Wildcats Thursday, finding the back of the net in the 89th minute to force a 2-2 draw. Gamez continued to deliver under pressure Sunday against the Lumberjacks, finding a teammate in the 79th minute to level the score and keep the Broncos alive late in the match. Just a few moments later, Gamez completed a pass in the 86th minute to score the game-winning goal to give Cal Poly Pomona a 3-2 victory. The goal marked Gamez’s seventh of the season, keeping him at the top the Broncos’ scoring leaders. Gamez now ranks first in game-winning goals (4), fourth in goals (7), and fourth in points (16) in the CCAA. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.
