Cal Poly Humboldt goalkeeper Ari Beddoes has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

The junior posted back-to-back shutouts, recording six saves in each match while playing all 180 minutes in goal. Beddoes faced 31 shots during the week and stopped all 12 shots on target for a perfect 1.000 save percentage.

Beddoes opened the week with a six-save performance in a 0-0 draw against Cal State Los Angeles on Oct. 2. The Golden Eagles finished with an 11-10 advantage in shots and placed six attempts on target, but Beddoes turned away every attempt to secure the clean sheet. 

The San Francisco native followed that performance with another six-save shutout in a 0-0 draw against then-unbeaten No. 5 Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 4. The two consecutive clean sheets helped Humboldt extend its unbeaten streak at home and earn a point against one of the conference's top teams.

Beddoes currently ranks third the CCAA's top goalkeepers with a 0.36 goals-against average and third in save percentage at .909. The seven shutouts rank second in the conference, allowing just four goals in 990 minutes of action this season.  Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.

With the two draws, Humboldt is 5-3-4 overall and 3-1-2 in CCAA play, giving the Lumberjacks 11 conference points and a tie for fourth place in the league standings.

The Lumberjacks begin a two-match road/home weekend on Friday, Oct. 9, traveling to Cal State San Marcos for an 11 a.m. match. Humboldt then returns to College Creek Field on Sunday, Oct. 11, to host San Francisco State at 11 a.m.
