ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal State LA’s Franco De Luna has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct 19-25.

De Luna helped to lead the Golden Eagles’ defensive efforts during a successful week for Cal State LA. The team recorded two shutouts, clinching the CCAA regular-season champion title with their wins.

The senior defender from Winnetka, Calif., helped the Golden Eagles’ keep #20 Cal State San Bernardino off the scoreboard Friday night, despite playing with only 10 men for 74 minutes of the game. He followed up his performance on Sunday by contributing on the other end of the field, scoring LA’s second goal in the victory over Fresno Pacific. That win sealed the No.1 seed and CCAA regular season title for  the Golden Eagles.
