Clutch goals lead Cal State San Marcos’ David Ruiz to FloCollege/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors Sep 30, 2025 Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State San Marcos’ David Ruiz has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 22-28. Ruiz scored three goals to help lead CSUSM to a win over Concordia and a tie against No. 7 Cal State San Bernardino before heading into conference play. The junior forward had two goals, including the last-second game-winner at Concordia. His first goal was in the 60th minute, before giving the Cougars the win with a last-second buzzer beater for his second goal. Ruiz added another goal in the 2-2 draw against No. 7 Cal State San Bernardino, in a non-conference match. The goals move Ruiz into a tie for fifth place in the conference with 0.50 goals per match. He is also seventh in points per game (1.17) and fourth in total goals (3).
