Jenna Tetrault of Cal Poly Pomona has claimed this week’s FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award.
Tetrault recorded a career-high eight saves in a shutout win over Cal State East Bay on Sunday as the top-ranked Broncos took down the Pioneers 1-0 in Hayward. Tetrault faced 11 shots in all to lift Cal Poly Pomona to a 7-0 start. CPP has now won 17 straight matches dating back to last year’s championship season.
The redshirt freshman from Redlands helped the Broncos hold off Cal State East Bay after an early CPP goal in the 11th minute. Tetrault was peppered with nine shots in the second half but picked up all four shots on frame to preserve the win.
Tetrault is second in the CCAA in goals against average (.571) and sixth in saves percentage (.826). Her three shutouts is tied for fifth best. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders
