Maya Cann of Cal State Monterey Bay has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week, for the week of Sept. 15-21.
Cann posted a CCAA-season high 59 assists in the Otters’ match against UC Merced on Saturday, surpassing the previous conference’s season best of 49 she set a week ago. For the week, in two matches, Cann averaged an incredible 11.63 assists per set. In CSUMB’s 3-0 win at Cal State East Bay on Thursday, she had 34 assists, which is the third best tally in a three-set match in the CCAA this season.
The junior setter from Chico, Calif., also added in three kills, five aces and 19 digs for the week. Cann’s 59-assist performance was the third most in CSUMB program history.
