Chico State’s Vineet Vallamsetty and Naoki Easterday shared the title at the 2025 Wildcat Classic, and they will share this week’s FloCollege/CCAA Golfer of the Week honors. 

Easterday and Vallamsetty tied for first at the Peach Tree Golf Course in Marysville, Calif., with 13-under 203. The senior Easterday held a two-stroke lead after 36 holes, but Vallamsetty registered seven birdies in the final round to earn the tie. 

Vallamsetty, a freshman from Newbury Park, Calif., tied for the tournament lead with 15 birdies, and Easterday was fifth with 14. Click here to see results from the tournament. 

Their efforts, combined with three more Wildcats registering scores under par, helped Chico State win the tournament by 10 strokes over No. 18-ranked Cal State East Bay and others. 

This is the fourth consecutive CCAA Golfer of the Week award for Easterday, dating back to last season. It is Vallamsetty’s first. Click here to see a complete list of past weekly award winners. 

The Wildcats will return to competition on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Bishop Invitational, hosted by Saint Martin’s, in DuPont, Wash.
