No. 2 nationally ranked Stanislaus State’s Christian Brenes earns FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Brenes helped the Warriors go on the road to earn a pair of shutout victories against GNAC opponents, while scoring two goals. 

Stanislaus State went across the border to defeat Simon Fraser 3-0. Brenes broke through late for his first career goal, cashing in on a turnover with less than seven minutes. In a 4-0 win at Saint Martin’s, the junior transfer from Cosumnes River College tallied his second career goal, scoring in the 59th minute to extend Stan State’s lead.

The Warriors found the net 13 times in their first four matches, averaging 3.25 per game, while allowing just two goals (0.50 GAA). This was the second shutout in a row. 

No. 2 Stan State is currently on a four-game winning streak and is scheduled to face No. 19 Menlo College in a top 25 matchup at Warrior Stadium on Thursday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on FloCollege.
