Claire Nordeen wins Chico State’s first CCAA Volleyball Weekly honor since 2017

Chico State’s Claire Nordeen has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week. (Sept. 16)

The sophomore from Fallbrook, Calif., led the conference for the weekend with 10.0 assists per set. She added 18 kills on a .278 hitting percentage, with 51 digs, four blocks, and seven service aces. 

She orchestrated the Chico State offense with poise and precision throughout a four-match stretch at the Redwood Coast Classic, helping lead the Wildcats to a 3–1 weekend. 

Nordeen ran a balanced, fast-paced offense that produced a team hitting percentage of .300 or better in three matches, including a .350 mark in a sweep of Jessup and a .318 mark in the fifth set of a win over previously unbeaten Oklahoma Christian.

She finished the weekend with three double-doubles, including a 45-assist, 18-dig performance in the five-set win over OC and 41 assists with 15 digs in a 3–1 victory over Dominican.

Chico State will open CCAA play this week by hosting Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday and Cal State LA on Saturday.
