Annie Wild of Stanislaus State posted a new personal best time as she has been picked as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, the first to start the 2025 season.
Wild continues to set the bar higher as she led Stanislaus State to a team victory at the annual Kim Duyst Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Wild ran the 6K race in 21:02.7, a new personal best, at the event at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres. The junior from Ripon, Calif., finished third behind Iresh Molina, who competed unattached, and Sophie Tau of Cal.
Led by Wild, a 2025 indoor track & field national champion in the mile, the No. 17 ranked Warriors finished a point ahead of Sacramento State for the team title and was five points ahead of Chico State. There were eight Division I programs at the late night meet.
Stanislaus State is slated to compete on Sept. 27 at the UC Riverside Invite in Riverside.
