Cal Poly Pomona’s Marisa Salazar voted as FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Cal Poly Pomona’s Marisa Salazar has been voted as the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 8-14.

Salazar scored a goal in each of the team’s victories to lead the No. 2 ranked Broncos to a 4-0 start. The senior midfielder from Long Beach scored once in a 4-1 win over Westmont on Thursday, when she recorded four shots with three on target. Then, at Point Loma on Saturday, she netted another goal on four shots to help secure the team’s first shutout of the season in a match between the two previous national champions.

The Broncos, the only undefeated team in the West Region, will host Fort Lewis (Thursday) and MSU Denver (Sunday) this weekend. Fort Lewis (No. 5) and MSU Denver (No. 4) were picked among the top teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference preseason poll.
