For the second consecutive week, Sonoma State’s Avery Foster has captured the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week award.
Foster continues her outstanding spring season with a runner-up finish at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational on Tuesday. At the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club, Foster shot a 3-under 141 to finish second. Only one other player — medalist Holly Obermuller of Menlo — tallying an under-par score for the tournament.
The Sonoma State junior from Clovis scored a two-under on Monday and followed with a one-under on Tuesday. Foster improved her Scoreboard national ranking to No. 23 and now has two wins and three runner-up finishes during the 2024-25 season.
As a team, the Seawolves placed fifth with a 617 total. Cal State LA, with three players in the top 10, won the team trophy with a 604 score.
This is Foster’s third career CCAA Golfer of the Week award. She won this award last week after winning the WT Desert Invite, as well as on Sept. 27, 2024. Click here to see a complete list of past weekly award winners.
The Seawolves will take some time off from tournament action until the CCAA Women’s Golf Championships, April 21-23, at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
