Chico State’s Trae Taylor has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the final week of the 2024-25 regular season. (Feb. 24-Mar. 2)

Taylor had nearly a perfect weekend, going 22-for-23 from the field and helping lead the Wildcats to a pair of 27-point wins. The junior from San Diego averaged 29.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game, in addition to recording a steal and two blocks.

He opened the week by setting a CCAA single-game shooting percentage record by going 14-of-14 from the field against Sonoma State. He registered a career-high 32 points and broke Paul Kapturkiewicz’s (UC Riverside) mark of shooting a perfect 11-of-11 from the field that had stood since 1998. CCAA Record Book

Taylor followed that game with a 27-point, 11-rebound performance against Cal State San Marcos. It was his fourth double-double of the season. He did not miss a shot until the 14-minute mark in the first half, giving him a streak of 18 consecutive made baskets, dating back to Feb. 22.

The forward is now shooting .737 percent from the field on the season. He is just under qualifying for the national leaderboard, where he would rank second. NCAA requires five made field goals per game to be eligible. Taylor is sitting at 4.89 made fg/game. Click here to see the list of CCAA Stat Leaders
