Pioneers’ Easton Hether and Cougars’ Greg Mouser share the FloCollege/CCAA Golfer of the Week award

The FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Golfer of the Week honors were shared this week by Cal State East Bay’s Easton Hether and Cal State San Marcos’ Greg Mouser.

The two golfers each earned a tournament win as an individual and helped lead their team to a victory. 

Easton Hether shot a 2-under 214 over three rounds at the NNU Invitational to lead the Pioneers to their fourth win of the season. The junior from Fairfield, Calif., shot a tournament-low round score of 70 (-2) in the second round and finished with 11 birdies. No. 12 ranked Cal State East Bay needed every stroke as it edged Sonoma State for the team title by just three strokes (882-885). This is the first CCAA Golfer of the Week honor for Hether in 2024-25 and the second of his career. 

Greg Mouser went 9-under par over 54 holes at the Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay. He opened the tournament with a 67 (-5) before shooting a 66 (-6) in the second round. The senior from Fresno then closed out with a 74 (+2) to hold on for a one-stroke win. Mouser finished with 12 birdies, and he shot 9-under on par-5 scoring. His efforts also helped the Cougars hold off Sonoma State for the tournament win. This was the first Golfer of the Week award for Mouser in 2024-25 and the fourth of his career.

Cal State East Bay will have a two-tournament week when it travels to Arizona next week. The Pioneers will open at the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout in Goodyear on Friday, March 21, in Goodyear, Ariz. They will then play in the Stack Cougar-Burro Collegiate tournament in Buckeye, Ariz on Mar. 23-25. 

Cal State San Marcos does not have another meet scheduled until the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Apr. 7-8 in Goodyear, Ariz.
