Tilda Kvarnrud of Cal State Monterey Bay has earned the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week award to start the spring season.

Kvarnrud fired a tournament low 3-under in the final round on Tuesday to hold-off three other players to win the LA Spring Kickoff. The senior Otter ended the 36-hole tournament, hosted by Cal State LA, with an even-par 142 total.

After a three-over par first round on Monday at the event held at Rio Hondo GC in Downey, Calif., Kvarnrud surged up the leaderboard to win medalist honors for her first collegiate tournament win. Her round two score of 68 is her second best as an Otter. On Tuesday, the Mariestad, Sweden native posted two birdies and ended up with an eagle in her final hole (a par 5 No. 3) to finish two strokes ahead of a trio of competitors all tied for second at +2.

This was Kvarnrud’s first career CCAA Women’s Golfer of the Week award. She’s just the second Otter to win the weekly honor in four seasons. Click here to see a complete list of past weekly award winners.
