Humboldt’s Kyori Lloyd averages a double-double to earn FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week

Cal Poly Humboldt’s Kyori Lloyd was named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 10-16.

Lloyd averaged a double-double with 19.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game to keep the Lumberjacks’ playoff hopes alive with two road wins. The sophomore forward shot .667 percent from the field (14-of-21), 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. She added back-to-back, career-high 13-rebound performances. 

Humboldt opened the week with a 66-60 win over Cal State East Bay. Lloyd scored 15 points in the game to go with her 13 rebounds. Then, on Saturday, in a one-point win over Stanislaus State (59-58), Lloyd played all 40 minutes, scoring 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-4 from behind the arc. 

Those consecutive 13-rebound games moved Lloyd to 10th in the CCAA with 6.5 rebounds per game. She is now averaging 10.7 points on the season and has recorded three straight double-doubles, four overall. Click here to see the CCAA Statistics Leaders.
