Cal Poly Pomona’s Malcolm Bell has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 15-21.

Bell led Cal Poly Pomona to a pair of road wins over conference opponents by averaging 21.5 points per game on .739 percent shooting from the field. He also averaged 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. 

The junior guard from Diamond Bar, Calif., opened the week by scoring 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting at UC Merced. He hit two 3-pointers (2-of-3) and had five rebounds. In a five-point win over Stanislaus State (93-88) on Sunday, Bell went 8-of-10 from the field and 5-of-6 at the free throw line to match his season-high with 22 points. He dished out six assists and had two steals. 

Bell leads the CCAA and ranks 33rd in NCAA Div. II by shooting .593 percent from the field. He is also second in the CCAA in points per game (16.8) and leads the conference in steals per game at 2.7 (17th NCAA). Click here to see the list of CCAA Stat Leaders.

Bell’s efforts have helped CPP win six of its last seven games and open the conference season at 3-1. Cal Poly Pomona is on a competition hiatus during the holidays.
