Ndifor Ginyui secures the FloCollege/CCAA Defensive Player of the Week after the Toros win the CCAA Championship

Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Ndifor Ginyui has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Ginyui helped lead the Toros (12-2-4, 8-0-2 CCAA) to a shutout in the finale match of the regular season to secure the CCAA regular season title and an unbeaten CCAA record for the second consecutive season. 

With the senior anchoring the backline, the Toros gave up only three shots on goal, and none in the second half, to shut out Cal State East Bay, 1-0. It was CSUDH’s 10th shutout of the season, and they extended their shutout streak to 420 consecutive minutes.

Ginyui’s efforts helped the Toros finish second in the CCAA in goal differential (+13) and seventh in NCAA Division II in shutout percentage (.556). Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.

Cal State Dominguez Hills will await the winner of the No. 4 seed Cal State San Bernardino and No. 5 seed Cal State San Marcos matchup, which will take place in San Bernardino on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 11:30 a.m. CSUDH will face the winner on Friday, Nov. 14, at Cardinale Stadium in Seaside, Calif.
