This week’s FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week award goes to Chico State’s Jessie Camarillo. 

Camarillo helped Chico State win CCAA matches over UC Merced and Cal State Dominguez Hills. She averaged 6.83 digs per set and posted a .966 reception percentage to anchor a Chico State defense that ranks third in the CCAA in digs per set (16.14). 

The senior libero tallied 41 digs and just two reception errors over six sets, while also contributing two service aces and 14 assists. Her command in the back row helped limit opponents to a combined .096 hitting percentage.

This is the first career CCAA Defensive Player of the Week award for Camarillo, and the second weekly honor Chico State has won in 2025 (Claire Nordeen, Sept. 16). Click here to see a complete list of past award winners. 

The Wildcats are still in the hunt for a CCAA Tournament berth, two matches back of sixth place. Chico will travel to Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, Nov. 7, before facing Cal State San Marcos on Saturday (Nov. 8). Both matches will be available on FloCollege.
