Liberty Ortiz of Cal Poly Pomona bookends regular season with FloCollege/CCAA Defensive Player of the Week honor Nov 8, 2025 Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal Poly Pomona’s Liberty Ortiz won the season’s first honor and now she’s got the season’s final one as she is named FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award after the finale match. Ortiz led the stingy Cal Poly Pomona defense to yet another shutout as the No. 4-ranked Broncos shut out Cal State San Bernardino, 1-0, on Thursday. The victory, coupled with Chico State’s draw against Cal Poly Humboldt, propelled the Broncos to their third consecutive regular-season title. The senior defender from Chino Hills, Calif., played in all 90 minutes as the unit held the high-powered Coyotes offense to just three shots on goal. CSUSB leads the CCAA with 23 goals in 11 conference matches and is second in the league with 31 goals overall. Entering the match against CPP, the Coyotes had scored 12 goals in five previous contests. Cal Poly Pomona leads the CCAA with the fewest goals allowed with 10.
