Cal Poly Pomona’s Vanessa Cruz earns her second FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award of the season after scoring two more goals.
Cruz, the conference’s leading scorer, scored twice — both game-winners — and added an assist as the top-ranked Broncos posted two more wins. CPP extended its winning-streak to 19 consecutive matches going back to last year’s championship season.
The senior forward from Oceanside netted the lone goal in the 70th minute in the 1-0 win at Cal State Monterey Bay to open the CCAA season on Friday. Cruz then accounted for both scores, a goal in the 7th minute and an assist on an Ally Henry goal just 92 seconds later in a 2-0 win at San Francisco State on Sunday.
Cruz leads the CCAA with seven goals and 15 points. Her 4.33 shots per match and 2.00 shots on goal per contest are also conference bests . Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders
