SF State’s Melanie Hewlett secures the FloCollege/CCAA Setter of the Week award

San Francisco State’s Melanie Hewlett was named the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week.

Hewlett totaled 103 assists, with over 50 assists in each match, to help the Gators split a pair of weekend matches. The native of Murrieta, Calif., averaged 11.44 assists per set and added 21 digs, five kills, and two aces. 

In a five-set match against Cal State Monterey Bay, Hewlett had 51 assists, 13 digs, and four kills for her fourth double-double of the season. On Saturday, she finished with 52 kills in a four-set win over Cal State East Bay. The 52 assists are tied for the most in a four-set match in the CCAA this season, and are just one off Hewlett’s career-high.
