For the second straight week a forward from Cal State San Bernardino has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week — this time it’s Emilee Perez.
Perez totalled three goals in two matches in leading the Coyotes to a pair of solid victories at home last week. She netted three of the team’s six goals as CSUSB beat Cal State East Bay, 5-0, on Friday and blanked Cal State San Marcos, 1-0, on Sunday. CSUSB earned six points in the standings to move up to third place, just two points behind Chico State and one behind Cal Poly Pomona.
The senior from Corona, Calif., netted a brace in the win over CSUEB scoring in the fifth and 24th minutes to pad the Coyotes’ lead. Perez added another goal in Sunday’s match against CSUSM. She scored the lone goal and game-winner in the 11th minute against the Cougars.
Last week, Bella Cervantes, who is also a senior forward from CSUSB, earned this weekly award.
