For the third time in four weeks, Cal Poly Pomona’s Sarah Ybarra has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. (Oct. 21)

Ybarra led CPP to a pair of wins, including knocking off Cal State LA, to claim sole possession of first place in the standings and run its winning streak to 10 matches. The junior from La Habra, Calif., averaged 5.75 kills per set, 3.50 digs per set, and 1.00 blocks per set in the two wins. She added five assists and two aces to post 6.5 points per set.

Friday’s match featured two teams that came into the contest undefeated in CCAA play, but behind a 21-kill, 13-dig effort by Ybarra, the Broncos left in first place after a four-set win. Ybarra posted a .359 hitting percentage and five blocks.

The next night against Cal State Dominguez Hills, Ybarra registered her fourth consecutive double-double, and third straight with at least 20 kills. She had 25 kills on 44 swings to post a .432 hitting percentage. She added 15 digs, four assists, three blocks, and a service ace.

Ybarra now leads NCAA Division II with 5.1 kills per set. She is the only student-athlete averaging over five kills per set. Her 5.7 points per set also paces the NCAA. Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard
