SF State’s Melanie Hewlett earns her first career FloCollege/CCAA Setter of the Week award Oct 14, 2025 Complete list of weekly winners >>> San Francisco State’s Melanie Hewlett has been voted the FloCollege/CCAA Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week of Oct. 6-12. Hewlett averaged 10.56 assists and 1.78 digs per set to help San Francisco State improve to 5-3 in conference play. The freshman setter totaled 95 assists, including a 53-assist performance against Cal State Dominguez Hills, to go along with 16 digs and four aces. The Murrieta, Calif., native opened the week by leading the Gators to a four-set win over Stanislaus State (7-8, 5-3 CCAA). Hewlett put up 42 assists, six digs, and three aces. She would record her first double-double in CCAA play, and third of the season, when she posted 53 assists and 10 digs in a five-set loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills. The 53 assists are the third-most by a CCAA student-athlete this season. Hewlett ranks second in the CCAA with 8.65 assists per set. Click here to see the complete CCAA leaderboard. This is Hewlett’s first career CCAA Setter of the Week award. She is the sixth different student-athlete in six weeks to secure setter of the week honors.
