Cal State LA goalkeeper Brayden McClelland was named the FloCollege/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring the Golden Eagles’ back line and allowing only one goal across two outings and registering a clean sheet.

On Friday, Oct. 10, against Cal State Monterey Bay, he stonewalled four shots, including several high-pressure chances, to help Cal State LA secure a 3-1 victory.

In Sunday’s clean sheet versus Chico State, McClelland made four key saves, including a point-blank denial of Xavier Elder following a turnover, helping preserve a 3-0 win for the Golden Eagles.

McClelland continues to stay at the top of the leaderboard among CCAA goalkeepers, ranking first in goals-against average (0.64), save percentage (.848), and shutouts (6) through 11 starts this season. He also ranks third in saves per game, averaging 3.55 per match. Click here to see the complete CCAA stats leaders.
