Toros’ Nala Williams collects third FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week award

For the third time during the 2024-25 season, Cal State Dominguez Hills’ Nala Williams has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. 

Williams put together another impressive week, averaging 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 6.0 steals per game while helping the Toros extend their winning streak to 18 games (10-0 CCAA). She shot .606 percent from the field and turned the ball over only twice in the two games. 

The junior guard opened the week by scoring 20 points, dishing out six assists, and posting eight steals in a 47-point win against Cal State East Bay. She went 9-of-14 from the field.

In the next game against San Francisco State, Williams delivered 24 points on 11-of-19 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, three assists, and four steals. She has scored 20 or more points in three of her last four games. 

The 12 steals helped the Long Beach native (Long Beach Poly HS) take over the NCAA Div. II lead in steals with 4.67 per game. She continues to pace the CCAA at 16.9 points per game, 1.3 ppg ahead of second place. Williams also leads the conference in assists (4.2) and is seventh in field goal percentage (.440). Williams won the CCAA Player of the Week award twice in December and has six in her career. She is also one of two Toros to win the award this season, along with Asia Jordan. Click here to see a complete list of past CCAA Players of the Week.

Cal State Dominguez Hills will be on the road this week. The Toros will face Chico State (13-4, 8-3 CCAA) on Thursday and Cal Poly Humboldt (5-11, 4-6 CCAA) on Saturday as they try to remain perfect in conference play.
